Bags

posted by Caia @ 6:52 PM

All I want to knit is bags! I have been collecting patterns for a while and I've finally knit up a couple and I have one that I'm still working on in my head. These were both very easy and fast, my favorite kind of project.
I made the pink bag while on a quilting retreat in Asilomar last weekend. I was the only one knitting for the most part and envying all the different fabrics that the quilters had accumulatd. The pattern for the bag came from a book I found in a quilting store on "Fabric Knitting". I cut long strips of different fabrics, tied them together and then knit them up. I braided the strap.
The brown one is simply a big rectangle folded over in half and sewn up the sides. To knit the strap I cast on about 80 stiches and then cast off for the next row. VERY easy and fun.
